Wahakura and Wahakura Weavers Questionnaire

The National SUDI Prevention Coordination Service is tasked with coordinating resources, services and information across the country to support the reduction of SUDI.

The rates of SUDI for Māori whānau continue to be higher than the rates for non-Māori. We know through research that smoking in pregnancy and unsafe sleeping for pēpi are linked to unexpected deaths. We also know that wahakura are the first Māori solution in the prevention of SUDI. Without kairaranga wahakura we don’t have these taonga.

Please forward this pānui to other wahakura weavers.

Wahakura and Wahakura Weavers Questionnaire

We are asking you to complete the enclosed questions to understand the capacity and capability of wahakura weavers. Once we have a better understanding of the national, regional and local level provision of wahakura and wahakura weavers we can therefore provide a coordinated approach to accessing these taonga.

We are offering a small koha on completion of this questionnaire.
