Professor Tipene-Leach is renowned for his achievements in the field of SUDI Prevention and Māori primary health care. He previously lectured at the University of Auckland where he established the academic teaching of Māori health and began the Maori SIDS Prevention team and the Whakawhetu National SIDS Prevention for Maori.

Fay has been the GM since October 2017 with Hāpai Te Hauora providing coordination and leadership in SUDI prevention, workforce development, communications, projects, online resources and tikanga Māori. The work they do centralises the wellbeing of whānau and tamariki.

Nari has vast experience in the field of Māori development and research working as a specialist in the Māori Growth Programme at Auckland Tourism Events and Economic Development and in advancement at AUT University. Her mother was a Public Health Nurse, Community Leader and Teacher and a huge influencer in Nari’s life and ambition.
