I joined TAS in August 2021 in the role of Planning and Improvement Manager - Child Wellness. My 30 years previous experience included roles such as LMC Midwife, Charge Midwife – Birthing Suite, Charge Nurse – Neonatal Unit, Midwifery Director and Portfolio Manager – Women, Children & Youth. 

Here at TAS I hold the position of Planning and Improvement Manager, Child Wellness. Katie Kennedy (Planning and Improvement Manager - Child Wellness) and I deliver two MOH contracts regionally; Wellchild Tamariki ora Quality Improvement programme and the Regional Safe Sleep component of the National SUDI Prevention Coordination service.  I also hold the TAS portfolio for Child Development Services for the Central Region.

In my Regional SUDI Prevention Coordinator role, I use quality improvement methodology to support the Central Region DHB’s to develop and implement SUDI prevention plans and activities as part of the National SUDI prevention programme.  I am passionate about supporting our maternity and SUDI workforce to work in partnership with whānau to ensure all our pēpē are safe and have the best start in life.

I live in Palmerston North with my husband and we are blessed to have our three grown up children and first mokopuna living locally.
