Zoë Tipa (Kai Tahu, Kahungunu) is registered nurse who is committed to increasing the accessibility and cultural safety of health services for Māori. Her PhD research is in the field of well child/ tamariki ora (WCTO) nursing and has asked whānau “what matters to them?” when accessing these services. Working alongside whānau, Zoë developed a framework for cultural responsiveness outlining the key elements that optimise engagement with WCTO services. Zoë is the Chief Nurse for Whānau Āwhina Plunket and is based in Kirikiriroa.
