Join us to celebrate World Breastfeeding Week! This year's theme is 'Closing the Gap Breastfeeding Support for All'.

The National SUDI Prevention Coordination Service alongside, Tobacco Control, Smokefree Activation and Research teams to meet with services, kaimahi and community in the Hawkes Bay region. An excellent attendance ensured shared kōrero around SUDI, SUDI prevention, Smokefree 2025 and activities. Of particular interest was information about immunisations for children and pregnant women.

The Big Latch On will be held in-person from Friday 12th to Sunday 14th April 2024. This will be our second year holding the event outside of World Breastfeeding Week in August. This shift is so that the event isn’t held in winter/at the height of cold and flu season. We will still continue to celebrate World Breastfeeding Week in August in other ways.

Throughout her career in health, she has also focused on uplifting the smokefree sector in Manawatu by supporting whānau, particularly wahine and māmā, in becoming smokefree.

Whakamānawatia Ngā Mokopuna aims to update the SUDI prevention sector including Te Ao Māori approaches, the health sector changes, SUDI research, national promotion and advocacy campaigns.
