Tiana has a strong background in administration within various industries, including building surveying, insurance, logistics, mechanics and park spaces. After living in outback Australia for a year, Tiana returned home where she woke up one day determined to help rangatahi improve their mental health and realise their full potential.

Tiana graduated AUT with a BHSc majoring in Health Promotion. During her time at Hāpai, Tiana has worked with the Māori Public Health Leadership team, where she was fortunate enough to learn and develop her career within the Public Health sector. After completing Mauri Ora training last year, Tiana realised that the mahi she does at Hāpai, needs to be done with her own whānau. After living in Tamaki Makaurau for 27 years of her life, Tiana decided to make the move home, to the Far (Far) North, so that she can play a more active role within her whānau and on her marae.

As the National Administration Coordinator, across SUDI, PMGH (Prevention and Minimisation in Gambling Harm) and Tobacco Control, Tiana is looking forward to connecting with the different sectors and learning more about Public Health, across the different portfolios. Since moving home, Tiana has been able to expose her whānau to some of the mahi that is done within Hāpai, including interviewing her Cousin who is currently on her quit smoking journey and organising a wahakura wānanga.
