Professor Marewa Glover has over 25 years experience working in, and later researching, public health. Her main focus has been on reducing smoking, including how to reduce smoking among women who are pregnant. Māori attitudes towards infertility and how to renormalize breastfeeding are other topics she has studied. Her most recent work investigates using a harm reduction approach to reduce smoking-related harms. She is also studying Māori and Pacific attitudes to childhood obesity and how to assist weight-loss among Māori and Pacific people at risk of cardiovascular illness and Type 2 diabetes.
